Hyperfibre in christchurch cbd-01

Hyperfibre comes to Christchurch

Enable, the local fibre company providing wholesale (Ultra-Fast Broadband) UFB services in Christchurch, has this month announced that it will be introducing Hyperfibre products on the 28th July 2021 on a limited service release basis.

The products will initially be available within the Christchurch CBD (all premises within the Bealey, Fitzgerald Moorhouse, Deans and Harper Avenues), with the coverage increasing over time as new XGSPON (read what’s XGS-PON here) equipment is installed in more Central Offices.

Lightwire has been included in the initial group of RSPs (retail service providers) testing the services with the aim of being certified by Enable for wholesale access. We will be offering 2Gbps and 4Gbps services initially, with 8Gbps services being in scope in the near term.

The timing is great for us at Lightwire and our South Island clients as we have just completed our latest round of 100Gbps and 10Gbps backhaul and switching upgrades, a program in which our Christchurch (Points of Presence) PoPs featured heavily.

Pricing for these services will be in line with those we already offer via Ultrafast Fibre (UFF) and Chorus, with wholesale 2Gbps BS2 access priced from $145 (excluding GST), and retail pricing from $189 (excluding GST). Please log into illume at portal.lightwirebusiness.com to access your rate card for complete detail.

If you are located in the Christchurch CBD and want to benefit from congestion-free 2Gbps and/or 4Gbps symmetrical speeds, check availability at https://portal.lightwirebusiness.com/sqtool
